A 45-year-old Windsor man has been sentenced to four years in jail for what the court described as a bizarre robbery.
Robert Michael Crawford was sentenced today after attempting to rob the CIBC Bank last October.
The court heard Crawford jumped up on the counter, riffled through some papers, smoked a cigarette and just waited for police to arrive.
After taking into consideration time already served, Crawford will spend just over two years and three months in jail.
Defence lawyer Daniel Topp told CTV News he was appointed to represent his client after Crawford indicated he would represent himself and requested more time in jail than his crime required.
