Windsor police have charged a 23-year-old man with several child pornography related charges after a tip from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the United States.

On August 27, a member of the FBI provided members of the Windsor Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit information about an alleged child pornography suspect in the Windsor area.

Windsor police conducted an investigation that eventually led to a search warrant being executed at a residence in the 1600 block of Southdale Drive on Thursday.

Police arrested the 23-year-old man without incident and seized his computer.

Omar Smith, of Windsor is charged with unlawfully possessing child pornography, unlawfully accessing child pornography and unlawfully making child pornography available.
