A Windsor man who left Canada after being convicted of passport fraud is now back in custody.

In December of 2014, 26-year-old Mohammed El Shaer was sentenced to 90 days in jail and a year probation after being found guilty of making false statements to obtain a passport.

He was released from prison with orders not to re-apply for a passport or any other kind of travel documents.

A warrant was issued for his arrest after he left Canada in march.

Last Friday El Shaer was arrested by the RCMP upon his return to Canada.

AM 800 is reporting El Shaer is once again facing several charges including forgery and uttering forged documents.
