A 21-year-old Windsor man has been arrested related to the assault of a Transit Windsor driver.

Windsor police were dispatched to the area of Lauzon and Little River roads around 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

Investigation revealed that the male suspect got onto the bus and was allegedly being disorderly and causing a disturbance. 

Police say the bus driver stopped the bus and asked the suspect to leave, which lead to a verbal altercation. 

The suspect then allegedly assaulted the bus driver and left the scene. 

The victim sustained serious facial injuries and was subsequently transported to hospital for treatment.

Through the investigation, officers say they received information and were able to identify the suspect.

He was arrested without incident on Thursday at about 9 a.m. 

The 21-year-old man will be charged with assault causing bodily harm.
