A Windsor man is charged after police discovered cocaine during the search of a near-east side home.

According to authorities, members of the Provincial Anti-Violence Intervention Strategy executed a search warrant at a residence in the 700 block of Giles Boulevard East on Thursday.

Once inside, officers located 23.6 g of cocaine and items associated with drug trafficking.

Mohammed Warde, 31, is charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

P.A.V.I.S. consists of officers from Amherstburg, LaSalle and Windsor police services.
