Area pets will breathe a little easier in an emergency, thanks to a donation of pet oxygen masks to Windsor Fire and Rescue Services.

Invisible Fence Brand and Tecumseh Animal Hospital donated the seven sets of pet oxygen masks Friday. The masks will be equipped in every fire station in the city, making it easier for firefighters to rescue household pets.

The donation is part of Invisible Fence Brand’s Project Breathe, an initiative which aims to equip every fire station in Canada, the United States and the U.K. with this lifesaving equipment.

“Pets are precious members of our families,” says Windsor Fire Chief Bruce Montone. “This donation will boost our ability to give them the care they need when emergency strikes their homes and we are very grateful.”

Each oxygen mask kit contains three varying sized re-usable masks.
