Two Windsor  parents, who have four children, are battling cancer and are unable to work, but the community is doing all it can to help.

They’re seeking some help from the public to help pay basic bills.

A fundraiser was planned Sunday for the family of Francis and Amanda Ryall.

Francis has colon and liver cancer, which is terminal.

"It's better to live every day until you die, versus die every day until you die, there's no point,” he says.

Amanda is recovering from a double mastectomy.

"I found a lump, Francis was currently in chemo, and I thought to myself, ‘hmmmm this is different.’"

She had her first chemotherapy treatment last Tuesday.

"You loose a lot of energy. As you can see we have four little bundles, who don't let it stop for you."

Molly, Killian, Quinn and Kiera are all under the age of 10.

"As a parent, you struggle. How much do you say how much you don't say. I tell them this is what the doctor found in mommy and he's going to take it out."

Amanda’s mom Linda moved to Windsor from Ireland to help out the family.

“Shocked is not the term for what I felt for my daughter, my only daughter. so here I am to support her,” she says.

Both Francis and Amanda are nurses. Francis can’t work and Amanda’s short-term disability is set to run out in March.

"This city knows what it's like to struggle and I'm so thankful that they come together to help other families, and that they have come to help out my family.

They want to thank the community for the fundraiser.

"The community is extraordinary here. They are good people, and one of strange blessing of cancer is realizing that,” Amanda says.

"We get cards from people we don't even know. The blessing, the prayers the thoughts across every walk of life, I mean, how amazing is that."

The fundraiser is at Windsor Sportsmen’s Club Sunday till 9 p.m.
