Pisces Fishery Incorporated of Wheatley pleaded guilty of a commercial fishing violation.

The company was fined $3,000 by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry for letting the flesh of fish become unsuitable for human consumption.

The court heard that on November 27, 2012 conservation officers boarded a vessel on Lake Erie operated under a commercial license held by Pisces Fishery Incorporated.

An inspection revealed that approximately 270 kilogram, or about 600 pounds of yellow perch on board was allowed to spoil.

The caught fish was valued at more than $1300.

The case was heard in Provincial Court in Blenheim on Sunday
