A look at Windsor-Essex entertainment from Oct. 12 to Oct. 14.
Pigs: Canada’s Pink Floyd Tribute: Left + Right
Pink Floyd tribute band “Pigs” is offering fans an authentic look back to one of the world’s favourite rock groups of the 20th century. Organizers say audiences can expect long, pyschedelic jams to such songs as ‘Shine on You Crazy Diamond’ and ‘Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun’. The seven-member band is on their “Left and Right” East Coast Tour of 2017. They will take the stage at the Capitol Theatre on Saturday night. Tickets are $45 and are available online or at the Capitol Theatre box office.
Classic Albums Live: Rush – 2112
The legendary Rush album “2112” is being showcased by Classic Albums Live at the Chrysler Theatre this weekend. Released in 1976, this album was the trio’s commercial breakthrough. The record album features the seven-part title suite telling a dystopian story set in the year 2112. Other songs include ‘Tears’, ‘Something For Nothing’, and ‘Twilight Zone’. Tickets are $35 online or at the Chrysler Theatre box office.
Windsor Craft Beer Festival
Local and craft brewers from across the province are gearing up for the Windsor Craft Beer Festival. The fifth annual event is taking place this weekend at Willistead Park in Old Walkerville. Windsor-Essex breweries are doing something different this year - creating a beer specific to the festival. Over 100 different beers will be on tap, as well as live entertainment and food. Tickets are $25 at the door or $40 at the gate.
WSO Concert for Kids
The Windsor Symphony Orchestra is hosting another Concert for Kids. It’s at the Capitol Theatre Saturday morning and tickets are just $5.
Windsor's Oktoberfest continues this weekend. The event features traditional keg tapping, live bands, dancing, games, prizes, food and drinks. Organizers say it's your chance enjoy the same beer that is served at the Munich Oktoberfes -- the Paulaner fest beer. Doors open at 6 p.m. at the Heimat Windsor Banquet Centre. Advance tickets are available online for $7 or get a 10-pack for $60.
