A 25-year veteran of the Chatham-Kent Police Service has been charged with discreditable conduct.
Officers say Chief Dennis Poole contacted London police to investigate how Sgt. Robert Mugridge obtained money from financial institutions, members of the public and the police service.
Mugridge will now face a police service act hearing at a future date. He has been suspended from duty since May 20.
The investigation is ongoing.
