Windsor city council may consider changing the amount of time you are legally allowed to keep your vehicle's engine running while parked.

Administration is suggesting only one minute of idling should be permitted.

The current by-law allows a driver to idle no longer than 5 minutes.  Any longer and you could be fined $105.

Dustin Carey, the environmental and sustainability co-ordinator for the City of Windsor, is hoping to get the number reduced to one minute.

It’s going before the environment standing committee on March 23. If approved, it will go to council in April.
