Fulvio Valentinis will not seek re-election for his council seat in Ward 3.
He made the announcement at a news conference Friday afternoon.
It comes a day after Ward 8 councillor Bill Marra announced he wouldn’t run for mayor of Windsor, but would seek re-election.
Instead Valentinis will seek a seat with the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board.
He’s the longest serving councillor, being elected in 1994.
