A new campus commons area will be coming to the University of Windsor, thanks to a generous donation from an alumnus.
David A. Wilson, graduated in 1961. He offered up a $1 million donation to the university.
Half the cash will go toward transforming a former parking lot on Sunset Avenue into a campus commons, complete with an outdoor basketball court performance stage meeting and gathering space.
The remainder of the funds will go toward a new nursing scholarship endowment fund.
Wilson hopes the gift will start a ripple effect of donations in the community.
