Windsor police say two people thought to be involved in human trafficking have been released.

According to investigators, a 26-year-old Brampton, Ont. man and a 22-year-old Mississauga, Ont. woman were arrested Sunday at a downtown Windsor hotel.

The arrests came after a 21-year-old woman told police she was brought to Windsor from Toronto by the individuals. The complainant told officers that arrangements were made in various cities and hotels, where clients would meet with the woman for a fee.

However, after speaking with the two individuals Monday afternoon, police determined the facts of her statement did not support the charges of human trafficking.

The man and woman have been released, no charges have been laid.
