Firefighters were called to 1168 Wyandotte St. E. on Friday, around 2:06 a.m. When crews arrived, they found the garage of a commercial-residential building to be on fire.

Police say investigation revealed that a discarded piece of furniture had been set on fire and it spread to the rear garage door.

A number of tenants were evacuated from the property. No injuries are reported.

Twenty minutes later, crews were called just up the road to 1262 Wyandotte St. E., where some discarded furniture was on fire. Both blazes have since been extinguished.
