CTV News has learned charges will not be laid against two Windsor cab drivers, who were being investigated for delivering alcohol for a fee.
In March, CTV News told you about a woman named Sonja Stratford. Her family discovered she had a drinking problem, which led to her death.
Her family found over the course of two years, Stratford had alcohol delivered to her home for a fee by the cab drivers.
In Ontario, you must have a licence to deliver alcohol.
The Alcohol And Gaming Commission of Ontario told CTV News in March, the drivers involved were not licenced.
Windsor police investigated and on Monday, Constable Andrew Drouillard confirmed they won't by laying any charges and the case is closed.
The City of Windsor Licensing and Bylaw Department also looked into the incident.
Supervisor Craig Robertson tells CTV News they checked GPS records and found the drivers were off duty at the time.
Robertson says "since the drivers were not engaged in taxi services, the regulations would not apply."
Robertson adds there will be no penalties against the cab company and drivers, since no charges have been laid.
