A 24-year-old tractor trailer driver from Windsor has been charged after a rollover on Highway 401 near Chatham.

Chatham-Kent OPP officers responded to the single-vehicle crash at 1:44 a.m. in the westbound lanes near Kent Bridge Road.

Police say preliminary investigation revealed that tractor-trailer loaded with 32,000 kgs of auto parts drove into the median, then drove back onto the roadway and rolled on its side in the passing lane.

The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Police believe fatigue was a factor in the collision and charges are pending further investigation.

Jashansit Cheema has been charged with careless driving.

The 401 westbound at Kent Bridge Road was closed until approximately 9:30 a.m. while crews removed debris and tractor-trailer from the roadway.
