A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a break and enter in Chatham-Kent.

According to Chatham-Kent police, a man allegedly entered a residence on King Street and stole a chainsaw and winch from an attached garage on Dec. 27in Highgate. Police say workers at the residence noticed the theft and followed footprints in the snow, leading them to the stolen property.

The workers continued following the tracks, which lead to a residence on Queen Street.

Through their investigation, police say they identified the suspect and located him Sunday afternoon on Main Street in Ridgetown.

Frank Zoldy, 49, of Highgate is charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

Police say Zoldy has been released on conditions pending a future court date.
