Five men were arrested during what police are calling a high risk traffic stop in Ridgetown.

Provincial police received a call regarding several men allegedly seen shooting handguns outside a vehicle window on Highway 40 heading towards the 401 in Chatham-Kent.

Chatham-Kent OPP and Chatham-Kent Police located the vehicle in Ridgetown and conducted a high risk traffic stop and five males were arrested.

Police then searched the vehicle and located toy guns, and found no actual firearms.

Police did not issue any charges and all five men have since been released.

No one was injured in the incident.
