Three people were charged with 23 offences after allegedly attempting to cash a stolen cheque at a Money Mart in Tecumseh.

OPP in Tecumseh were called to attend the Money Mart on Manning Road in Tecumseh on Monday 12:40 p.m.

Officers say the accused persons had attempted to cash a stolen cheque and they were in possession of several items that had previously been stolen throughout Essex County.

Police say two of the accused had falsely identified themselves.

Kevin Pohjola, 46, of Windsor was charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 x 5 and uttering forged document and obtaining by false pretence.

Cyril Martell, 47, of Lakeshore was charged with possession of stolen property obtained by crime under $5000 x 5, personation with intent and uttering forged document and obtaining by false pretence.

Kamilla Lenart, 35, of Windsor was charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 x 5, uttering forged document and obtaining by false pretence and obstruct peace officer.

All three accused parties will appear in a Windsor court on Aug. 26.
