An animal rescue organization is seeking the public's help after a theft early Friday morning.

Chatham-Kent police say they responded to an Edgar Street residence to find a suspect had made off with a large quantity of dog and cat food along with a  supply of pet leashes, outerwear and collars. These items were to be used by Pet and Wildlife Rescue (P.A.W.R.) to stockpile the animal shelter in Chatham.

Police say members of PAWR are scrambling to get necessary items for the animals.

Those who wish to donate pet food or supplies can contact Pat Ready at P.A.W.R. at pawrrescue@gmail.com or by visiting their website at www.pawr.org.
