The Manchester Pub could be closed for several weeks after suffering water and smoke damage.

Windsor fire crews were called to the building next door on Sunday for water leaking from the fifth floor of a condo at 540 Ouellette Avenue, near Wyandotte Street.

On Monday, the pub at 546 Ouellette Ave. suffered smoke damage after a fire at the neighbouring cigar shop at 560 Ouellette.

The Manchester owner says he hopes to open in time for St. Patrick’s Day, but it could take about four weeks to get things back to normal.

Officials say the water leaked all the way down to the basement of the condo, affecting electricity in the building.

Crews also had to shut down power at the pub and other neighbouring buildings while they dealt with the flooding.

Fire prevention officer John Lee says there was a lot of water flowing out of the condo lobby and out to the street.

The property manager at 540 Ouellette says water damaged mostly the common areas and not the condos
