Unifor Local 1959 says it was down to the wire, but a tentative agreement has been reached between employees and Windsor Salt.
A union representative tells CTV News they received a phone call shortly after 1 a.m. that a deal had been reached. The union was in a striking position as of 12:01 a.m.
It’s unclear what the agreement consists of, but a ratification vote will be held Thursday at noon at the Verdi Club in Amherstburg.
On Friday, city crews were stockpiling salt at several locations across Windsor as a precautionary measure.
