WINDSOR -- Windsor police say two youths have been arrested after a violent assault was caught on camera and posted online.

Officers responded to a call related to an assault on Tuesday.

It was reported that a male youth was physically assaulted near the Forest Glade skate park at 3205 Forest Glade Dr. on Monday around 5 p.m. by two male suspects.

In the video posted on social media, the victim can be seen being kicked in the face and repeatedly punched in the head.

Police say the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the assault. No weapons are believed to be involved in the incident.

Through investigation, two male suspects were identified and subsequently arrested without incident. This is not believed to be a random assault.

Both males are facing an assault charge.

Lisa Valente is part of a group called Parents Against Crime. She's concerned violence will escalate if teens don't feel safe in public.

"I was really disturbed with the video because there was so much violence," says Valente.

Valente says the more this is happening, she fears it will encourage teens to carry weapons to protect themselves.

“Clearly in that video, he wasn't able to protect himself, there were so many teens surrounding him," says Valente.

Valente recognizes the video shows a reality of what's happening in the city, but also believes charges should be brought up to people who are videotaping, and almost egging everybody on and yelling the background.

“Like how could you stand by and actually watch that happen and just think that's ok," says Valente.

Police say investigators are aware of the video and it is part of the active investigation.

"Anytime a situation is captured on video and released to the public, especially when there's a victim involved, that could definitely revictimize that person and we encourage people to turn that video over to police," says Const. Talya Natyshak.

Due to the fact both accused males in this matter are young offenders, they cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

This matter remains under active investigation by the Major Crime Branch.
