Chatham-Kent OPP are investigating a fatal collision overnight involving pedestrians on Moraviantown First Nation.

Police say a man and two teenaged girls were walking on Centre Road around 1:40 a.m. on November 19th, 2016, when they were struck by a Chrysler 300 that had turned south onto the road. The victims, all from Moraviantown First Nation, were taken to an area hospital.

As a result of the collision, the 16-year-old female pedestrian succumbed to her injuries. Her name will not be released until her family has been notified. The 24-year-old male pedestrian was transferred to a London hospital. The 17-year-old female suffered minor injuries and has been released from hospital.

The driver of the motor vehicle, a 21-year-old man from Moraviantown First Nation was not injured.

OPP Traffic Collision Investigators are examining evidence at the scene. Centre Road between River Line and School House Line will be closed for several hours as the investigation continues.
