Windsor police are trying to piece together what happened in a crash that killed a 17-year-old Windsor male Thursday evening.

The crash occurred between a motorcycle and a minivan just before 10:30 p.m. Thursday on Cabana Road West in front of Huron Lodge.

Police say the mini-van was driven by a 46-year-old male.

The male driver of the motorcycle was transported to hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.

Friends at his local high school, Vincent Massey, (where the flag was at half-mast) were grieving.

"He was a really funny guy. He made people laugh. Was always upbeat," one person said.

Cabana Road was closed for several hours overnight while police conducted an investigation.

No one else was reported injured in the collision.

The Forensic Identification Branch, as well as the Collision Reconstruction Unit attended the scene.

The investigation continues.
