Windsor Police say there is no reason for the public to be concerned about two separate stabbings that took place within hours of each other.

One happened in an alley in the Ford City area on Tuesday afternoon, the other on Parkside Court in the west end late Tuesday night.

Police say both incidents are unrelated, and both involved people who were known to each other.

In the first incident, investigators say a 55-year-old man was stabbed after an altercation between two men.

A 44 year old man later turned himself into Police and was charged with aggravated assault.

In the second incident, police allege a teenage boy stabbed his teenage sister. She is in hospital, recovering from serious injuries.

The boy is now charged with attempted murder.

Residents in both neighborhoods say they are surprised by the incidents.

Police add their information does not reveal an increase in stabbings in Windsor.
