Chatham-Kent is preparing to mark the 200th anniversary of the Battle of the Thames, and the death of the great native leader Tecumseh.
One of the community's largest public events will take place from September 27th to October 6th.
Organizers have planned a week of battle re-enactments, balls, plays, concerts, art exhibits and more.
A special media event was held at Fairfield Museum north of Thamesville to announce plans Wednesday afternoon.
Re-enactors, playwrights, artists, performers and historians will all be involved in the main events.
The intention is to provide the largest battle re-enactment of Ontario's war of 1812 bi-centennial on October 5th.
