Windsor Fire crews battled an intense fire early Thursday morning at a business in the 9300 block of Tecumseh Rd. East.

The fire broke out around 4 a.m. and crews were met with heavy fire on the second floor and attic of the building.

By 5 a.m. crews were forced to take exterior defensive positions and eventually the roof of the building collapsed.

A preliminary investigation has determined that the fire started in the attic. According to Windsor Fire the cause remains undetermined but it may have been electrical.

Damage in the fire is estimated to be $250,000.

There were no injuries.
