Two local men are feeling lucky after winning the same amount on Encore draws.
Emeka Nwachukwu purchased his ticket at the Double Seven Gas and Car Wash on Wilkinson Drive in Leamington – matching the last six of the seven numbers, winning $100,000.
Shawn Winters of Windsor also won $100,000 on Encore, plus an additional $20.
“I scanned my ticket at a self-checker on my way home from work,” the 48-year-old machine operator told OLG. “I couldn’t read the machine because of my eyesight so I asked the attendant at the gas station to check it for me. That is when the validation slip came out and the attendant said I won $100,000!”
Winters was so grateful for the attendees help, he gave the man $100.
He plans to use the $100,000 for a down payment on a house and to get laser eye surgery.
