Workers at Syncreon Automotive have a voted in favour of a new contract.

AM800 News reports employees voted 81 per cent in favour of the new three-year deal on Tuesday.

The agreement is for about 480 employees at Syncreon, and includes a $1.50 an hour raise that is effective immediately.

The company is considered the last stop in the supply chain for the "just in time delivery system" for the Windsor Assembly Plant, and a strike could have sent thousands out of work.

Union Vice-President Emile Nabbout says it feels good to get the deal for the workers.

Wages were the main issue in contract talks.

The workers voted 99.9 per cent in favour of strike action in early March.
