It's happening again. Someone is illegally cutting trees in LaSalle and police are looking for answers.
A LaSalle town employee discovered two vandalized trees in Kenwood Park yesterday.
One 80-year-old tree is being trimmed today for safety. The entire tree will come down when ground freezes.
LaSalle police are asking anyone with information to come forward. They are canvassing the neighborhood as part of the investigation.
In November, three large trees were severely damaged with a chainsaw in Lafferty Park in LaSalle. The Poplar trees were up to 60-feet high with wide bases of two or three feet. They had chainsaw cuts that were five to six inches deep on their trunks.
