A 49-year-old Windsor man has been arrested related to four commercial break-ins on Wyandotte Street.

Officers were dispatched to a commercial alarm on Wyandotte Street on Tuesday at about 5:55 a.m. The alarm was for a common front door to Gia Nails at 4781 Wyandotte St E and The Bird's Den at 4783 Wyandotte St E.

Police say the front door's locking mechanism had been tampered with. A small quantity of cash was taken from each business.

Damage was also discovered to the door lock of Pizza Plus located in the 4600 block of Wyandotte Street East. Officers say that the cash register had been removed.

A witness contacted police and said they saw a suspicious vehicle in the 1000 block of Raymo Road. The driver removed a cash register and various papers from the trunk.

Police went to the location and recovered the cash register. They confirmed it was the one taken from the Pizza Plus break in.

After running the vehicle information, they got the name of a potential suspect. Officers familiar with the suspect viewed video from the Pizza Plus break and enter and confirmed his identity.

Police ran the suspect and learned that he had an arrest warrant on file in relation to a previous break and enter investigation in the 1100 block of Wyandotte Street East.

The suspect was arrested without incident on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in the yard of a house in the 700 block of Lincoln Road.

Peter Aston, 49, from Windsor is charged with four counts of break and enter.

Police are continuing to investigate several other commercial break and enters in the Walkerville area.
