The clean-up continues following a storm that hit Windsor-Essex on Monday.

Homeowners, municipal employees and hydro crews spent Monday night and most of Tuesday cleaning up after heavy winds and rain knocked down trees and hydro lines across the region.

Most of the damage was reported in Windsor, LaSalle and Amherstburg.

Steve Percy, the superintendent at Ambassador Golf Club, tells CTV News they sustained some damage.

“It came through pretty quickly and it took out about eight trees and it actually blew the garage door off from the back shop,” says Percy.

There is no damage estimate, but municipal official suggest the total will be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Some trees ended on top of homes, fences, roads, even in swimming pools.

There were reports of a funnel cloud over the Amherstburg area, but Environment Canada says there were no reports of any tornadoes in the area.

More than 13,000 customers lost power during the storm, but all areas have been restored.

Fortunately, there were no serious injuries reported during the storm.

Municipal officials are still gathering data about the damage done, and encourage residents to report any tree damage on their property.
