Windsor police have recovered five stolen autographed hockey jerseys and they are being returned to the Windsor Minor Hockey Association.

Police arrested a 35-year-old man on Jan. 5 in connection with the theft, but at the time the jerseys were still missing.

Officers from the target base unit worked diligently over the past two weeks and are happy to report that through the investigation were able to recover all of the jerseys.

Michael May is charged with three counts of break and enter and theft under $5,000.

On Jan. 3, officers were called to Adie Knox Arena on Wyandotte Street West around 2 p.m.  for a report of five missing hockey jerseys.

They were signed to the Windsor Minor Hockey by Bob Probert, Ed Javanovski, Bob Boughner, Matt Martin and John Tucker and were all in framed.

Police say video surveillance showed two suspects allegedly entering the arena at approximately 1:45 a.m. and leaving with the jerseys.  Officers reviewed the video and linked one of the suspects to other break and enter investigations.

On Jan. 5, officers found the suspect near Wyandotte Street East and Louis Avenue and he was arrested without incident.

The target base unit continues to investigate this incident and are attempting to identify the second suspect.

Police are asking the public to review the picture and call if you have any information. Windsor police can be reached at 519-255-6700 ext. 4350, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS), online at www.catchcrooks.com, or Submit a Tip on Facebook.
