WINDSOR, ONT. -- Windsor fire officials say six residents self-evacuated and got out safely after a house fire on Parent Avenue.

Crews were called to the blaze in the 1400 block of Parent on Tuesday morning, shortly after 7:30 a.m.

According to Deputy Chief Kam Lauzon, the fire and damage was contained to the back end of the upper unit.

“Smoke alarms save lives,” said Lauzon.

Damage is estimated to be around 75,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
