The city is asking drivers to watch for detour signs on Riverside Drive West.
A section under the Ambassador Bridge will be closed for six weeks.
City officials say a request came from the bridge company, so their crews could do some deck work.
Drivers will be asked to use University Avenue as a detour around the work.
