A section of Highway 3 will be temporarily closed for four months while crews finish one of the remaining sections of the Herb Gray Parkway.

Starting Friday night, Highway 3 westbound between Grand Marais and Labelle Street will be temporarily closed while crews reconstruct this portion of the road.

This portion of Highway 3, often reffered to as Huron Church Road, has been used as a diversion road for construction of Highway 401 over the last three years. It is one of the remaining permanent sections that needs to be reconstructed.

Traffic will be managed in three stages during construction.

Traffic accessing Highway 3 westbound between Cabana Road West/Todd Lane and Labelle Street will be detoured onto Highway 401 westbound via the on-ramp just west of Cabana Road West.

For traffic in the Pulford Street area, the designated detour route is Pulford Street, to California Avenue, to Norfolk Street to Dominion Boulevard.

Either E.C. Row Expressway or Cabana Road West to the Highway 401 on-ramp will provide access to Highway 3 west of Labelle Street.

Last weekend, an eight-kilometre portion of Highway 401 between North Talbot Road and E.C. Row Expressway opened to traffic.
