TORONTO - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says a brand of sausage is being recalled because of possible salmonella contamination.
The sausages, produced by Marini Foods Ltd. of Toronto, are sold in Ontario.
The recall covers four sausage products are in various packages under the REA Sweet Cacciatore name and three others under the label Bona Sweet Cacciatore.
All of the affected packages are marked with Lot 4237.233.
There have been no reported illnesses linked to eating these products but the CFIA says other products may also be recalled.
Food contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can cause illness, particularly among young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems.
