A close family friend and former teammate will be the road captain for the third annual Bob Probert Memorial Ride in Windsor.

Former Chicago Blackhawks player Tony Amonte will lead the pack of hundreds of motorcycles, starting on Ouellette Avenue at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital.

Organizers have reduced the registration fee for riders this year to $20 and passengers to $10.

Pre-registration is at Dirty Jersey's on June 21. The ride starts at 10 a.m. June 23.

The event is in support of Cardiac Care. Probert, an NHL hockey enforcer and avid motorcyclist, died of a heart attack at the age of 45.
