Transport Canada has filed a report after a small private plane flew over Windsor without any radio communication over the weekend.

In a report filed on Monday, Transport Canada says a Piper PA-28R-200 aircraft was instructed several times to fly north towards the river to pass behind a WestJet Boeing flight from Calgary.

After no response from the Piper pilot, the Boeing was instructed to pass under the small aircraft to land at runway 25 at Windsor Airport. It’s unclear how close the two planes came during the pass.

A short time later the Piper plane landed on runway 30 and informed the control tower that his volume was turned down.

No injuries are reported, but several planes were delayed as a result of the miscommunication.

Transport Canada says further investigation is not required and no charges will be laid.
