Two men filming a YouTube video in LaSalle unwittingly caused a gun scare after the replica guns they were using were mistaken for real weapons.
Around 6:30 p.m. police received a report from a concerned resident about a young man seen going into the bush area near Mayfair Avenue and Sacred Heart Drive with what appeared to be a long gun.
Police units including off duty officers were called in to assist with the incident. The area was cordoned off and a search ensued.
Around 8 p.m. police located the young man along with another man. Both men are in their early 20’s and explained that they were making a YouTube video with replica firearms.
Police determined there was no threat to public safety and the two men have been released.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
