The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has released a report on the study of a cancer cluster located in Remington Park.

Though the report has been released, the Health Unit says they are waiting until Thursday to comment, wishing to give the public time to read the report.

Between 2000 and 2009 the rate of lung cancer cases in the area was 2.2 times high than the provincial rate.

Other forms of cancer were not about the provincial average.

The health unit met with 12 people or their next of kin to find common exposures that could explain the cluster.

The report did not outline a definite answer but it did say that the only carcinogen that all 12 people were exposed to was tobacco smoke.

Other environmental factors and concerns were also identified.
