A faulty underground cable left some residents in Tecumseh feeling powerless.

According to Essex Powerlines an outage occurred for 61 customers in a small subdivision near Brighton Road and Riverside Drive around 2:30 p.m.Tuesday.

The electricity was not restored to those customers until after 7:30 p.m.

“It took some time for our crews to locate the fault and begin to reroute power,” said Don Charron, Operations Director of Essex Powerlines.

Charron expects the utility will hire a contractor to make repairs before spring.
