Windsor police are probing a possible hate crime directed toward people who speak Arabic.

On Monday, officers attended a residence located in the 2300 block of Longfellow for a report of mischief to a vehicle, which included offensive language directed toward people who speak Arabic.

The complainant told police that his vehicle was parked in the driveway on July 1 and was damaged early morning between 2 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Police say the vehicle was found heavily damaged with scratches on the interior and exterior of the vehicle.

They also observed offending language carved on the vehicle directed towards people who speak Arabic.  Detectives conducted a canvass of the neighbourhood and continue to investigate the incident.
