Posting on social media, Windsor police said they were investigating the theft of a gift intended for a child on Santa’s Nice List.

Officers say the suspect entered a home in the 2500 block of Jingle Bell Lane through the chimney, grabbed a brightly wrapped package, and fled towards the North Pole in a sleigh-like vehicle.

Police say the suspicious character may be in the company of a small dog wearing antlers.

The suspect was described as a green male with yellow eyes, approximately 6’2" tall, with a slim but fluffy build. At the time of the incident, he wore a red Santa suit and sported a mischievous grin.

Thanks to tips from the community, police identified the Grinch as a possible suspect in the Christmas heist.

The Grinch was located and charged with theft. Police say officers are committed to keeping you and your gifts safe this holiday season.
