OPP are investigating a disturbing sex trafficking ring along the 401 corridor from Windsor to Toronto.

It is alleged several gangs are luring young women from across southwestern Ontario and forcing them to have sex.

Traffickers are known to target the most vulnerable, including young women, at-risk youth and those with mental health and addiction issues.

The most recent trafficking ring has police on high alert and asking for the public’s help.

Reports say a Nova Scotia gang, North Preston's Finest is allegedly one of a number of gangs involved in the ring.

Const. Andrew Drouillard says sex trafficking in Windsor does occurr.

“It may have started off with a romantic relationship and it eventually leads to coercion, then to the sex trade. It may also be they have lured them with money, gifts, young girls in shopping malls, group homes, parties. They may even use other women to locate these women that are possible future victims.”

Drouillard say Windsor police are also educating staff at various hotels across the city to be on alert and look for warning signs.
