Windsor police are hoping description will help find the vehicle involved in a crash with a cyclist in west Windsor.

Police say a 23-year-old cyclist was stopped at a red light on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. on Wyandotte Street West at Sunset Avenue.

When the light turned green, the cyclist pedaled her bike westbound across the intersection. Police say a red vehicle also heading west on Wyandotte turned northbound on Sunset Avenue in front of the cyclist. The cyclist hit the passenger door of the vehicle and fell from her bike.

She had scrapes to her right shin and on the back of her left forearm.

The vehicle is described as a red sports car with heavy dark tinted windows. It had a single black stripe in the centre of the entire vehicle. Police say it will likely have some damage to the right side passenger door from the accident.
