Plans to remove structures along the flood dyke of Little River were put on hold yet again Monday night.
Homeowners have been building docks and other so-called "obstructions" along the flood dyke for some 30 years.
According to the staff report, 73 of 165 homeowners have these man-made obstructions.
City staff wanted council to approve its bid to remove the encroachments and allow the dyke to perform at full capacity.
But councillor Jo-Anne Gignac says the city has not fully consulted with residents and requested the matter be deferred.
City staff will now speak with these homeowners and report back to council.
