A suspect has been identified in a homicide investigation being carried out by the Windsor Police Service.

Alexander Mackenzie, 33, of Windsor, is wanted for first degree murder.

The suspect is described by police as a white man, 6’4”, approximately 195 lbs and long dark hair.

Police are warning the public the suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who spots the suspect is not to approach the suspect but, to call 911.

“Investigators do have reason to believe that the suspect could be armed and dangerous and should be treated that way,” says Tayla Natyshak, a constable with the Windsor Police Service.

On Wednesday, officers responded to a home in the city’s west end just after the noon hour for a report of a suspicious death.

The police tape at 628 Mill Street is down,but officers remain in the area, looking for clues.

The investigation is now Windsor’s third homicide of 2019.

“We would just like to remind the public to never approach a suspect,” said Natyshak. “If you do [see the] suspect in the area, please call 911 immediately.”
